Roundup: Izzo’s rolls out breakfast menu at Mall of La. … Sandwich recall includes Louisiana

Breakfast burritos: Izzo’s Illegal Burrito rolled out a new breakfast menu at the Mall of Louisiana location this week. The new menu features breakfast burritos and tacos with fillings like egg, potato, bacon, steak and chorizo. Izzo’s owners may extend the menu to other locations after testing it at the mall location. Don’t unwrap it: A St. Louis company’s nationwide recall of pre-packaged sandwiches includes Louisiana. The state Department of Health and Hospitals says Landshire issued the recall of more than 17,000 cases of its Nike All-American and Nike Super Poor Boy sandwiches on Oct. 20 because the food may be tainted by Listeria monocytogenes. DHH says the sandwiches were distributed at convenience stores, wholesale food distributors and retail supermarkets throughout Louisiana. Landshire issued the voluntary recall after two samples from the company’s plant in Caseyville, Ill., tested positive for the bacteria, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly and others with weakened immune systems. No confirmed illnesses have been reported in Louisiana. Consumers may return recalled sandwiches to the place of purchase for a refund.
