Roundup: DeAngelo’s set to open Central location … Mad Dogs to open in 2015

Central at central: The Café Roux building on Sullivan Road in Central has been sold for $540,000, and a Louis DeAngelo’s Casual Italian restaurant is set to move into the space. Plans are to open the restaurant by early September, about a month before DeAngelo’s marks its 20th anniversary. The Central DeAngelo’s will feature favorites such as specialty pizza, salads and fresh pasta, along with new dishes being developed by Executive Chef Michael Dardenne. Mad for pubs: Popular San Antonio pub chain Mad Dogs plans to open three restaurant locations in Louisiana, with one in Baton Rouge by 2015. The Mad Dogs concept mixes a traditional pub ambiance with a relaxed atmosphere dedicated to food, drinks and live entertainment.
