Roundup: Baton Rouge ranks among top 10 cities for fast-food spending … Rotolo’s plans Perkins location
Too fast: Baton Rouge is ranked ninth in the nation for spending on fast food. Business Insider based the list on how much and how frequently people in the 100 largest U.S. cities ate at eight of the largest national fast-food restaurants, including McDonald’s, KFC, Taco Bell and Subway. Baton Rouge residents spent 1.3 times the national average on fast-food restaurant fare and visited those chains 1.6 times the national average. See the full report here. Rolling out Rotolos: Rotolo’s Pizzeria plans to open a restaurant in the Panache Plaza shopping center on Perkins Road. Mitch Rotolo says the plan is to open the restaurant by Oct. 1. Panache Plaza is now under construction on Perkins, between Essen Lane and Bluebonnet Boulevard. Rotolo says he’s wanted to move into the Perkins area for a while, because of the good demographics. The new restaurant will be identical to the 17 other Rotolo’s locations in Louisiana and have 30 employees and seating for about 80 people.
