Roundup: B.R. ranks high for fast-food saturation … Zapp’s wins potato chip taste test
Too much too fast: Baton Rouge is No. 7 in a new report that ranks cities based on the number of fast food restaurants per 100,000 residents. The Daily Beast says that Baton Rouge has 216 fast food establishments, which comes out to 95.8 restaurants per 100,000 people. The online magazine says Burger King has the biggest presence in the city. Orlando was ranked first overall, with 196.3 fast food places per 100,000 residents. See the full report here. The tastiest chips: Zapp’s took first place in a recent Bon Appétit magazine potato chip taste test. The chips from Gramercy beat out 11 other brands in the taste test. One of the “blind” tasters of Bon Appétit called the Zapp’s snack a “perfect little chip” with a “good heft and crunch.” Another taster said the chips were “binge worthy.” Sibling brand Dirty All-Natural finished second on the list. A nutritionist put Zapp’s second, noting the chips were lowest in sodium and were tied for second in the low-fat category. Read the review here.
