Roundup: B.R. chef wins ‘Louisiana Cookin’ award … Viking to open cooking school downtown
Cookin’ good: Nathan Gresham, executive chef and owner of Beausoleil, will be featured in the July/August issue of Louisiana Cookin’ as one of the magazine’s 2011 “Chefs to Watch.” Gresham will join four other chefs from across the state for an awards dinner in New Orleans August 22 to benefit Café Reconcile. Get your degree in grilling: The first-ever Viking Cooking School Outdoors will open this fall on the pool deck of the Hilton Capitol Center downtown. The school will offer hands-on lessons in an outdoor pavilion, with themed classes such as romantic date night and tailgate cooking. The class size will range from 16 to 30 students at a time.
