A national favorite: Stella!, a French Quarter restaurant that mixes Creole, French, Italian and Asian flavors, has been named as one of the top 50 restaurants in America by an online dining reservation service. The Diners’ Choice awards were determined by a year’s worth of comments from OpenTable.com customers. Stella! was the only Louisiana restaurant on the list. The winners represented a range of geography; the 50 winners were from 22 states and the District of Columbia.A commitment: Jimmy John’s sandwiches has signed a lease in the Perkins Road Hardware building and is set to open a 1,400-square-foot restaurant by early fall. This is the first tenant to commit to the Perkins Road Hardware mixed-use building and this will be the first Louisiana location for the chain. Jimmy John’s has more than 840 locations in 37 states. For lease on Third: The former D’Agostino’s space is up for lease. Diane Zhang, who owns the building, says she’s talked to a number of potential restaurant tenants. “We haven’t gotten to a final decision who to lease to,” says Zhang, who owns the Café Mediterranean in Southdowns Shopping Center.
