Round-up: New “Office” downtown … Trish Himel is a Legend … New names in Asian cuisine
Third Street “Office” to open: You may not see Steve Carell there, but The Office is coming to Baton Rouge. The brainchild of Lafayette nightclub owner, Brandt Broussard, this upscale bar and restaurant is scheduled to open in two stages in the former Roy Phelps Gallery building on Third St. this fall. A legend in the business: Trish Himel of Capitol City Produce in Baton Rouge has been given the Louisiana Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Partnership Legends Award for her years of service to that establishment. This award recognizes the people behind the scenes in the restaurant supplier business who have provided stellar service for two decades or more: Himel, customer service guru, has been with Capitol City Produce for 31 years. Name change and new names: Sherwood Forest’s Asian eatery Taste of Asia has recently been renamed Nguyen Bistro. And coming soon on Siegen Ln. in the old Shoney’s building, a new Japanese buffet restaurant, Osaka Café. 225 Dine will keep you posted on the opening ETA.
