Rodgers and Hammerstein’s ‘Cinderella’ comes to the Capital City

Experience a rendition of the classic musical at the Manship Theatre this weekend. The show, presented by Central Community Theatre, opens tonight at 7 p.m. The fairytale revolves around a young maid who dreams of a better life. With the help of her fairy godmother, Cinderella transforms into a princess. Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote the musical in the late ’50s for television. Since then, it has been adapted countless times on television and for the stage. Additional performances will run Thursday at 7 p.m. and Friday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. At the 10 a.m. show Friday, children will have the opportunity to take pictures with Cinderella. Those who dress up for the performance will receive a special gift. Tickets start at $20.
