Road trip: Lil Wayne in Lafayette, Tom Jones everywhere
In the past two weeks, New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne has saved the music industry with the release of Tha Carter III. Selling a little more than a million copies already, Wayne, aka Weezy, made the highest debut since 50 Cent’s The Massacre in 2005. Relentlessly working, his tour heads to the Lafayette Cajundome on June 27, 8 p.m. Tickets start at $48. Tom Jones is known for two things: a booming voice and chest hair. The pop singer performs at 8:30 p.m. June 27-28 at L’Auberge du Lac in Lake Charles, then at 7 p.m. June 30 and July 1 at the House of Blues in New Orleans. Tickets start at $50. (Courtesy Lil Wayne)
