“I recently discovered a BBC series called Simon Schama’s Power of Art. This series lets you see into the artists behind the art. You see how they lived, loved, and lost. Seeing a glimpse of the humanity and passion behind the art is what causes me to fall in love with a certain piece. Most of the art I own was created by artists I have gotten to know, even if briefly. Sometimes it’s that personal connection with the artists that makes their work more than just something over my sofa. There’s usually a story behind a piece. Knowing it only enhances the experience.”
