“Because of my left brain/right brain background (Bachelor of Science in Chemistry/Master of Fine Arts in Studio Arts), I use color in my art based on both an analytical as well as emotional basis. Subconsciously I think about wavelengths of colors I use as well as emotions triggered by different colors when I am making art. My medium is light?reflected, transmitted and absorbed light. Because light can be broken up into different wavelengths with each color having a characteristic wavelength which makes it unique, color is not only essential to my art but it is the essence of my art. I use glass, mirrors, light-emitting diodes and reflective materials to express my ideas. When light enters the eye and is perceived as color, something magical happens. It’s this special feeling that I strive for when making art.”
