“This image has stuck with me for some time now. There’s just something about it that calls out to me, and I become transfixed by its depths. Not only are there two separate rooms here, but the stillness of the water creates a completely separate world, a dimension which is interrupted by one single ripple. It reminds me of the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, which I’ve walked down, where the walls and floors of the room are endless, so it seems. The photograph was taken by my favorite photographer, David LaChapelle. His ability to create an image of extreme reality is incredible. Nobody does it like him.”
