“I would have to say my favorite artist is Andrew Wyeth. He gave me an insight that I really needed to take my work to a new level. My favorite painting by Wyeth is Siri, from 1970. I love the simplicity of the environment, the strong horizontal and vertical lines that ground this painting and give it its quiet nature. I love how natural the light feels. I love that there is a sense of atmosphere and the placement of the portrait. Though the portrait is strong and draws you in, this piece is about so much more. I strive to present this same sense in my work. I always have.”
