Reviving the Mound

The newly-restored Magnolia Mound Plantation reopens this Saturday, June 25 for a Renaissance Soirée honoring Winnie Byrd and Sue Turner, preservationists instrumental in rescuing the old Duplantier home. Classical music by the Magnolia Strings will greet guests at the front of the house, as they get a personal guided tour of the spruced-up space. Then guests can meet up in the back gallery for champagne and a walk along a lighted path towards the La Grange pavilion. Enjoy music by the Ned Fasullo Orchestra, dance and browse a tasty French buffet. Tickets are $100 per person. 7 to 10 p.m. Make reservations by calling 272-5847.
