Restaurant review: Bonefish Grill

When Towne Center at Cedar Lodge changed the retail landscape of Corporate Boulevard at Jefferson Highway a few years ago, the hope among many locals was for the lifestyle center to bring not only new fashions but also exciting new flavors to Baton Rouge. With Whole Foods, Zea Rotisserie & Grill and P.F. Chang’s, the variety is certainly there at the development, but Bonefish Grill seems to blend in best with a city constantly craving new twists and turns in its seafood dishes. From tangy fried shrimp tacos and crab cakes to fresh trout, ahi tuna and lobster entrées, Bonefish marries Louisiana-friendly seafood with a playful streak of Pan Asian and Eastern seaboard flavors. Tim Curci co-founded Bonefish Grill in St. Petersburg, Fla., in 2000. As evidenced by the “Catching Tim Curci” videos on the restaurant’s homepage, Curci continues to travel the globe looking for exciting new recipes for his expanding franchise, now located in 28 states.
