Race down the Mississippi River – Stand-up paddlers and kayakers will face a challenge this weekend at Louisiana’s first Big River Regional.

Stand-up paddlers and kayakers will face a challenge this weekend at Louisiana’s first Big River Regional. The regional championship race runs approximately 13 miles along the mighty Mississippi River Saturday and features contestants from Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Florida and many more states. The race starts at Florida Street in downtown Baton Rouge at 8:15 a.m. and finishes at the L’Auberge Casino & Hotel. Spectators are welcome to cheer on racers at the start downtown as well as from the back deck of L’Auberge. There will be an after party on The Lawn at L’Auberge around 1 p.m. with a buffet.
