Quantum leap

Those waiting impatiently for the next Jason Bourne movie can just rent this, the latest James Bond thriller Quantum of Solace. Following up on 2007’s stellar franchise saver Casino Royale, Solace takes a blood stained page from the Bourne book by having Agent 007 on the run from the get-go and looking for revenge. While tracking those responsible for murdering his love, Vesper, Bond uncovers a plot by eco-terrorists to control the earth’s water supply and topple certain governments. Talk about regime change. Daniel Craig continues to own the role like no one since Sean Connery, and even if it’s a little derivative, Solace is breathless fun.  Mathieu Amalric, Judi Dench, Olga Kurylenko, and Jeffrey Wright co-star. Rated R.
