Plenty to do this summer
There may have been a time when life slowed down for Baton Rouge summers, but this year promises to be busier than ever.
Things kick off Friday, July 4, with a full day of downtown activities capped off with the spectacular fireworks display over the river Friday night.
Then Art Melt takes over the Shaw Center with a party reveling in art July 11. It’s a celebration of original artwork by some of the city’s most creative talents and sponsored by Forum 35.

And a new program this summer is Louisiana Saturday Night, a series of Saturday night concerts and events hosted by downtown’s Boudreaux & Thibodeaux (voted best new club), M Bar and the Roux House. The three venues will highlight live music shows and give Baton Rougeans yet another reason to go downtown.
With so many Best of 225 award winners to explore and the multitude of events going on downtown, if you have a dull summer this year it’ll be nobody’s fault but yours!
