The Play List: Things to do for singles in New Orleans

Audubon Park

If you’re already in the Big Easy, why not do as the locals do and head over to the “The Fly,” Audubon Park’s famous waterfront hangout. It’s a great place to regroup after a long day of sightseeing in the city. 6500 Magazine St., New Orleans, LA 70118. (504) 581-4629. auduboninstitute.org

The Cabildo

While you’re touring Jackson Square, take a little time to expand your knowledge of the city’s history by touring the Cabildo. The Civic is partnering with one of the top music promoters in the United States, The Bowery Presents, to bring top acts to the theatre, which now combines historical architecture and technological innovation to provide a first-class experience for the artists and patrons. 510 O’Keefe St., New Orleans, LA 70113. This 2,800-acre state park on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain features a lakefront campground and cabins, fishing piers, trails for hiking or bicycling, a nature trail and even a sandy beach for sunbathing. It’s the perfect place to get away from it all without spending a ton of money. Remember to make your reservations far in advance if you’re planning to spend the night. They fill up fast. 62883 Louisiana 1089, Mandeville, LA 70443. (985) 624-4443. crt.state.la.us/parks
