Pineapple Express on DVD

The clever melding of Seth Rogen’s Superbad-style comedy and director David Gordon Green’s rustic, indie eye, Pineapple Express was a big hit last summer with stoners and straits alike. Rogen plays a likable loser and James Franco his connection when the two witness a policeman being murdered and go on the run from the corrupt cops and gangsters responsible. Obviously, the duo can’t squeal to the cops, so it’s up to them and their dim-witted pal Danny McBride to solve the case and stay alive long enough to be best friends forever in what may be one of the most heart-warming stoner movies ever made.
