Pineapple Express lights up Friday

As if stoners needed another excuse to be paranoid around cops. Pineapple Express stars Seth Rogen and James Franco as a buyer and seller who witness a policeman committing murder. On the run from the corrupt cop and the crime lord who hired him, Rogen and Franco gather their scattered wits and whiz through a series of overblown—and in this setting, hilarious—action sequences. Directed by indie phenom David Gordon Green and produced by Judd Apatow, this comedy is much more aligned with the original Beverly Hills Cop and Fast Times at Ridgemont High than anything Cheech and Chong ever dreamed up, even when smoking out.
