Piccadilly launches emergency services division

Baton Rouge-based Piccadilly Restaurants announced today that it has created a new division within the company: emergency services. The new division will allow the restaurant and food service company to feed people on a mass scale anywhere around the country following a disaster. Chief Operating Officer Chris Sanchez says Piccadilly has a new, custom-built emergency kitchen that enables it to serve up to 100,000 meals a day. The company is not entirely new to emergency food service. Following hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005, Piccadilly says it served 10,000 meals a day and a total of more than 100,000 following the two storms.
