Paul Lowrance’s University Club ‘‘man room’’ – My Space
225 wanted to see where Baton Rouge guys go to shoot the bull, play and drink, or watch the big game.
So we queried readers in search of the best. The one we are most envious of is the plush, expansive “man room” in the home of Paul and Amy Lowrance. Paul’s retreat is actually the entire second floor of their University Club home, complete with a balcony overlooking the 3rd hole green.
Remson-Haley Architects spent a year designing the spectacular space that includes a bar, a poker table, a pool table, a shuffleboard table, vintage Galaga and Centipede arcade games, an exercise area with steam shower—and coming soon, a home theater system with a 12-foot screen.
“We do poker, dinner club, happy hours, and LSU games,” says the 36-year-old business systems analyst for the Shaw Group. “This is the third home we’ve built, and we always wished we had added this or that to the first two. So when we started designing this one, we made sure that it had everything we could ever want.”
