Passengers breaks boundaries Friday
Grief counseling has certainly been a hot topic in films this decade, particularly in the oft-overlooked drama Reign Over Me. Maybe we’re all experiencing more grief than we did in the 1990s, but Passengers uses this psychology field to construct a supernatural thriller. Anne Hathaway plays a young counselor working with the survivors of a plane crash. She falls for one of them, Patrick Wilson, who seems to know more about her life than he is letting on. Mystery builds as her clients disappear and her attraction to Wilson causes her to break her doctor/client boundaries. Rated PG-13.
