‘Parade’ yourself downtown

Baton Rouge Mardi Gras Season gets underway with the first of the major parades rolling this weekend. First up, the all-female Krewe of Artemis rolls Friday at 7 p.m., celebrating their 10th anniversary of New Orleans-style Mardi Gras fun to the streets of the Capital City. Saturday, Baton Rouge’s oldest parading Krewe, the Krewe Mystique de la Capitale, celebrates 34 years with their afternoon downtown parade at 2 p.m., followed by the Krewe of Orion Parade at 6:30 p.m. down a similar downtown route.
