Open for business on Thanksgiving

-

Perhaps your planned Thanksgiving meal ended up a Charlie Brown-style disaster, or maybe you just don’t feel up to the stress and labor of making a Thanksgiving dinner on your own. Whatever your reason, Baton Rouge has plenty of places to snag a delicious Thanksgiving meal without your having to lift a finger. Copeland’s on Essen offers a special holiday Pilgrim’s Platter, as well as their full menu on Thanksgiving. The Little Village—both locations—will also be offering a special holiday prix fixe menu, featuring everything from roast turkey to rack of lamb. The Crowne Plaza Hotel serves up a full Thanksgiving buffet with all you could possibly want for your meal, including garlic mashed potatoes, prime rib, suckling pig and five varieties of dessert—all for $25 per person. Call 930-0104 for reservations. Craving an intimate Thanksgiving? Try grabbing a table at Ruffino’s and sampling their holiday spread of roast turkey, oyster dressing, sweet potato casserole and much more. The Hilton Capitol Center also offers up a Thanksgiving feast of epic proportions, with pasta, omelets and seafood, as well as more traditional turkey-day fare and live entertainment. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 344-5866 for more information. Nottoway Plantation will host a delectable buffet featuring all your Thanksgiving favorites, from Cajun-fried turkey breast to sugar-glazed ham. Meat mecca Texas de Brazil opens early at 11 a.m. for Thanksgiving, and even has a few seasonal treats on their menu. Mansurs on the Boulevard offers limited seating on Thanksgiving afternoon, and if you like your holiday to be a casual affair, Southern standby Picadilly Cafeteria will open its doors wide and serve a full holiday spread, from sweet potato casserole to collard greens.
