On the Road: Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse in Dallas

If you’re trekking out to Arlington, Texas, to see the Tigers whip butt at the Cotton Bowl, you might also be looking for a good place to set and munch on your way back home. If you pass through Dallas, one great place to try is Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse, widely regarded as one of the best barbecue restaurants in a state known for great barbecue. It’s got plenty of locations all around the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, but if you’ve got your choice, head to their original location on Inwood Road, in business for a century, which has been serving up pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, po-boys and brisket since 1958. With tasty sides like cole slaw, potato salad and barbecued beans, you’ll be sated and ready for the drive home. Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse, sonnybryans.com. (Image courtesy Sonny Bryan’s)
