On the road–Katz’s in New York

-

Hope you’ll have what she’s having at Katz’s Delicatesson. Next time you’re in New York City, stop by the city’s oldest and most famous deli in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, the same place they filmed that orgasmic scene-stealer in the Oscar-winning When Harry Met Sally. Since 1888, the deli has piled up cured Jewish meats like pastrami and salami in its mustard-polished sandwiches, accented with a crunchy kosher pickle as green as Kermit himself. Expect to wait in line at the always-crowded deli, but make sure you step in the correct line; there’s a line for sandwiches, a line for fries, and a line for drinks, etc. It’s a madhouse, for sure. And don’t ask for barbecue sauce with your brisket. The meat cutter laughed and asked if I was from Texas. (Photo credit: Rebecca Breeden)—Rebecca Breeden
