Olympus Has Fallen (in theaters Friday)

The first of two 2013 action films set in the White House comes Friday with Antoine Fuqua’s Olympus Has Fallen. Think Die Hard at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and you’ll have a good idea of this one. Gerard Butler plays Mike Banning, a troubled former Presidential guard who is trapped in the White House during a terrorist attack. Aaron Eckhart plays President Benjamin Asher, and the always-reliable Morgan Freeman stars as the Speaker of the House. Though it’s unclear whether the film will bring Butler back to the top of the box office, Olympus Has Fallen is of note for being filmed in Bossier City. Rated R.
