Nominate your pick for ‘King of Cakes’

This Friday is the last call to nominate your favorite king cake bakery in Baton Rouge for the first-ever king cake taste test, put together by the Bite & Booze blog and the Baton Rouge Visitors & Convention Bureau. A panel of foodies, local celebrities and food writers will conduct a blind taste test of a selection of the finest king cakes the Red Stick has to offer. Current nominees include Ambrosia Bakery, Gambino’s, Baum’s and Forte Grove—as well as stranger offerings like cake balls, king-cake flavored coffee, ice cream and cupcakes. You can nominate your favorite king cake in both traditional and nontraditional categories by visiting the BRVCB’s Facebook page or by tweeting your suggestion to @visitbatonrouge with the hashtag #KingCakeBR.
