Baton Rouge's #1 lifestyle magazine since 2005

NOLA style’s B.R. flavor

The inaugural New Orleans Fashion Week, presented in late March by Andi Eaton, Rachel LaRoche and Nicholas Landry, proved to be a shopper-friendly celebration of fashion and style that showcased a number of designers with ties to Baton Rouge.

LSU grads Jolie Bensen and Elizabeth Dewey, creators of the New Orleans-based dress line Jolie & Elizabeth, were at first skeptical about the fledgling event. But they quickly found broad, enthusiastic support, which they shared, Bensen told the Daily Reveille.

Also featured during the weeklong event was Heavy Metal jewelry by LSU graduate Lauren Weiner.

The week achieved the organizers’ goal of showcasing both established and up-and-coming designers. Things culminated with a weekend of no fewer than 10 runway fashion shows at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.
