Nirvana + Rainbows = B.R.’s Melters

Melters are one of the local alternative rock scene’s best-kept secrets. The band’s songs range from jangly pop one minute to thrashing punk the next. Their sound is equal parts chugga-chugga and rainbow-y melodies. Fresh off the release of Neato, the band opens Friday at Northgate Tavern for A Soup Named Stew, which celebrates the release of their latest album, Number Two. 10 p.m. $5. 18 and up.
