Nice spread

When happy hour calls, we tend to crave a tasty, salty snack, too. A surprising happy hour find is the recently opened City Pork Deli & Charcuterie. Their small lunch menu is great, but stopping by in the early evening for the charcuterie board is where their passion for all things meat truly shines.

During happy hour—Wednesday-Saturday, 4 p.m.-7 p.m.the charcuterie board and cheese board (with cheeses from St. James Cheese Company in New Orleans) are both $3 off.

The charcuterie board works as a sampler for all the take-home proteins you’ll find behind the glass. A recent visit featured pecan-smoked duck breast, German-style sweet bologna, liverwurst, pickles and a hearty mustard all made in-house. With the addition of prosciutto (the only meat they ship in) and crackers, it’s enough to share with friends over marked-down beers and wines.

Oh, and did we mention this tiny spot near the Perkins Road overpass also makes its own bitters for a delicious version of the Old Fashioned? City Pork just might be your new favorite happy hour spot. cityporkdeli.com
