Newly minted

Lauren Barksdale Hill, this year’s Best of 225 winner for “Best Visual Artist” is opening a new showroom for her work as part of a trio of boutiques in the old Starbucks location on Corporate Boulevard near Mansur’s.

Called mint, the collective space is a family affair and will include Hill’s mint.ART gallery, her future sister-in-law Rachel Kazibutowski’s new shoe store mint.SHOES, and her sister Shannon Mahon’s mint.HOME.

Mahon will feature a blend of modern and classically designed furniture and home décor with a strong lean toward whites and neutrals.

“I’ve worked really hard to bring new and different pieces to Baton Rouge at an affordable price point,” Mahon says. “Lauren and I do everything together, and home [furnishings] and art go hand and hand. So, a collaboration made perfect sense.”
