Musical detour – Gas Food and Lodging Fest ’13 takes over three venues starting Friday

Baton Rouge is one of the perfect pit stops for touring bands looking to make a splash at the annual South-by-Southwest festival in Austin.

This year, The Spanish Moon, Mud & Water, and The Varsity have teamed up for more than 25 shows over the span of three weeks.

Gas Food and Lodging kicks off this Friday night with Vacationer and Body Language at The Spanish Moon; and Painted Palms at Mud & Water.

Among the many shows, don’t miss Dent May, Mount Moriah, and William Tyler next Monday, and Free Energy Sunday, March 17, at The Spanish Moon.

At Mud & Water, The Nappy Roots will perform next Thursday, Secret Smoker will perform next Friday, and Austin Lucas will perform an early show Monday, March 18.

At The Varsity, Less Than Jake will perform next Wednesday with Squirt Gun Warriors, and Hinder, Nonpoint, and Acidic will perform Friday, March 15.
