“Junip is a trio from Gothenburg, Sweden, composed of popular solo artist Jose Gonzalez on vocals and guitar, along with Tobias Winterkorn on keys and Elias Araya on drums. The band’s debut LP, Fields, is an intentionally lo-fi, beat-centric record focused on establishing and settling into a groove. Each groove has an expiration date, and Junip knows how long to stay in the pocket and get out before the sound turns trite. The rhythmic structure is repetitive without being redundant, calculated yet fresh.
