Museum exhibit explores South Baton Rouge

Old South Baton Rouge’s rich history will be under the spotlight in the exhibit Pride of Place at the Louisiana State Museum downtown. The exhibit, which starts Thursday, not only showcases the area’s civil rights history but also highlights community members such as Grambling University Coach Eddie Robinson, bluesman Buddy Guy, American Idol judge Randy Jackson, world-champion boxer Joe Brown and actress Lynn Whitfield. Starting Thursday, admission to all exhibits to the Baton Rouge museum will be free. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
