Mmm, Billy Bob plays The Varsity

When he’s not earning a reputation as one of the best actors in the industry, Billy Bob Thornton is carving his name in the music world, working with everyone from Tim McGraw to the late, great Warren Zevon. Touring behind the release of the new two-disc, self-titled set, Thornton’s band, The Boxmasters, play The Varsity on Monday, July 28. The honky-tonk music is what you’d expect from the Oscar-winning actor, who is planning a reunion film with ex-wife Angelina Jolie. Doors at 7 p.m. Show at 9 p.m. 18 and up. $15.
