Meet Mother Goose at Independence Park

Starting this Thursday, the New Venture Theatre will present the family-friendly send-up of every fairytale from Rapunzel to Sleeping Beauty, The Kidnapping of Mother Goose. Tired of the “damsel in distress” routine that every heroine seems to find her in, protagonists Mandi and Nicki decide it’s time to confront the ring master herself—Mother Goose. They demand that she start telling stories of girls who take down a dragon and save the prince, girls who don’t have to pretend to be the belle of the ball when they are happy in their own skin and for Pete’s sake—lock a boy in a tower for once!
