Matherne’s at Kenilworth hosts wine dinner tonight

Kunde Family Estates owner Jeff Kunde and head winemaker Zach Long will host a five-course dinner tonight at Matherne’s at Kenilworth (7355 Highland Rd.)

The menu includes reserve wines you won’t find anywhere else in the state that were brought in specifically for tonight’s dinner. Those reserve wines include the ’08 Kunde Estate Reserve Chardonnay, an ’08 Kunde Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and an ’11 Kunde Estate Reserve Ancient Vines Zinfandel. All wines will be available for purchase after the dinner.

The menu includes bite-sized fish tacos, gulf shrimp and creamy homemade pecan and basil pesto over pasta, wild mushroom risotto, USDA choice Angus prime rib with parmesan mashed potatoes, and Zinfandel chocolate cake.

A reception for the dinner starts at 6:45 p.m., and the meal will start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person. For more information, call 767-0074.
