Marceaux, The Veronicas bring feminine mystique

Saturday’s a great night for female performers. Start out at Daltons downtown with singer-songwriter Alexis Marceaux of New Orleans, out with a full-length album Dandelion. Look for hints of Carole King and Alanis Morissette in the sounds of Marceaux, who plays guitar, piano and harmonica. Later that night, head to The Varsity to catch The Veronicas. The Australian twins’ music is sugarcoated pop, for sure, but more Kelly Clarkson than Ashlee Simpson.
