Magnolia Mound celebrates Black History Month
BREC’s Magnolia Mound Plantation ends Black History Month with the 6th annual presentation of the original production, “The Oral Tradition of Black Folk Tales: Surviving Slavery and Passing on Culture,” this Saturday. The play interprets several African-American folktales from fanciful Aesop-like fables to heavier fare dealing with the struggles of slavery. 2 p.m. Free and open to the public.
