LSU Opera presents The Rape of Lucretia

-

Don’t miss Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia, the most performed and admired of all 20th-century operas, as the LSU Opera Season hits its prime. The story, set in war-time Rome, surrounds a soldier’s loyal, lonely wife—a “timeless antiquity punctuated by tastes of fear and undertones of violence, yet beautifully artistic,” according to LSU Opera. There are four performances at 7:30 p.m. this Thursday through Saturday, and a 3 p.m. matinee Sunday at the Reilly Theatre on LSU campus. Tickets are $10, $15 and $25 and available at music.lsu.edu.
