Local musicians ‘Drop the Needle’
Once a month, Baton Rouge musicians are bringing their favorite classic albums to life with the series “Drop the Needle.” At the event, musicians perform an album from start to finish. This Thursday, an ensemble including Ben Herrington, Denise Brumfield, Peter Simon, Melissa Wilson and many more will perform Carole King’s Tapestry at Chelsea’s Café at 7:30 p.m. Cover is $8. Vetter Kids, The Chambers, Baby Boy. Three rock bands perform upstairs at The Spanish Moon. $5. 8 p.m.

The Art Newman Benefit Concert. Local musicians come together to perform at Red Dragon Listening Room for a long-time fixture in the scene who is facing health issues.
