Local film parallels Red Red Stick life; screening Saturday

225 staff writer and filmmaker Jeff Roedel’s new short, Life in the Tall Tall Grass, will make its premiere Saturday, June 7 at PlusOne Gallery, 2241 Christian  St. The film focuses on Hanks (played by Brady Crane), who sets out to make a film as a means of escaping the doldrums of small town America. The film uses the neglected areas of Baton Rouge and features music from The Eames Era and Harlan. The premiere doubles as a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with music provided by DJ OttO, a silent auction and recent work from artist John Norris’ “Inanimates” exhibition. Tickets are $10 at the door. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
