Living on the Edge

When Welsh poet Dylan Thomas is excused from the armed forces, he retreats to a home life every bit as tempestuous as the battlefront in The Edge of Love, out this week on DVD and Blu-ray. While writing screenplays for propaganda and army recruitment films, Thomas falls in love with two women, his childhood love played by Keira Knightley, and his wife played by Sienna Miller, a woman as free-spirited and adventurous as he can be. Matthew Rhys plays Thomas as a flawed and conflicted dreamer who, as WWII rages on, watches his two muses form an unlikely bond while he navigates the future of his art and his social standing in 1940s England. Cillian Murphy co-stars. Rated R.
