Literary festival brings top names to B.R.

-

The New Delta Review, the literary journal for LSU’s English department, wants to eat up your time with literary sublime. The Delta Mouth Literary Festival brings several poets and writers from around the country for three events throughout the weekend. The first show starts 9 p.m. Thursday at Teddy’s Juke Joint in Zachary, with a blues jam with the King Catfish Bingo Club and the Belly Rubs featuring Michael Graber of Memphis’ Bluff City Backsliders, as well as sets by Flatbed Honeymoon and Nashville’s Uberphonics. Friday at 2:30 p.m. experience uncensored readings by NDR’s editor Shane Noecker, novelist David Madden, poet and certified dream therapist Rodger Kamenetza and many others at the Old President’s House on LSU campus. Later that day at 7 p.m., join other local writers at the Baton Rouge Gallery for more readings. After parties to be announced. Visit lsu.edu/newdeltareview for details.
