Lil Boosie returns to B.R. Thursday

The Baton Rouge rapper known for songs such as “Wipe Me Down,” “Do the Ratchet” and “Set It Off” will perform in his first hometown concert since being released from prison. Lil Boosie performs at Southern University’s F.G. Clark Activity Center (798 Harding Blvd.) Thursday at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $105 online. The show is part of Boosie’s Touchdown 2 Cause Hell Tour, which has already seen sold-out shows in Lafayette and New Orleans. An album bearing the same name is due July 15. Boosie, aka Torrence Hatch, was released from prison in early March after serving eight years for pleading guilty to drug charges.

Neat, Dirty Kills. Punk bands perform an early show at The Library at Northgate. Doors open at 6 p.m. Cover is $5 for ages 21 and older, $8 for ages 21 and younger.

Captain Green, Jonathan Boogie Long. Enjoy funk, jazz and more in a special Fourth of July concert at Spanish Moon. Doors open at 9 p.m. $7.

Montgomery Gentry. The country duo performs a free show as part of the Dixie Landin’ summer concert series. Gates to the concert grounds open at 6:30 p.m. The show starts at 7 p.m.
No Need for Armor, Torn Between, April’s Downfall. Hard rock bands perform at The Varsity. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 online and $12 at the door.
