LIFF announces lineup
The Louisiana International Film Festival has announced its slate of films for the upcoming inaugural event.
LIFF will include three U.S. premieres, and more than 50 other film screenings, ranging from acclaimed documentaries to recent releases and cult classics.
The festival will also include several Louisiana-based films, including the world premiere of By and By: New Orleans at the Crossroads and the regional premiere of Morgan Neville’s new documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom. Both of these films will be screened in New Orleans on April 18.
In Baton Rouge, the festival continues on April 19 with screenings of Boxing Day (a drama starring Danny Huston), The Iceman (a crime drama starring Ray Liotta and Michael Shannon) and many more. You can see a full list here.
Friday will also feature a free producers conference and industry expo at the Celtic Media Centre. A full schedule for the conference is available here.
On Saturday April 20, the screenings continue with evening centerpiece galas across the Baton Rouge area. Among the films included for Saturday are: At Any Price, a drama starring Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron; Disconnect, a new thriller starring Jason Bateman; director Michel Gondry’s latest The We and I; Dean Spanley, a comedy starring Peter O’Toole; and documentaries such as the critically-acclaimed West of Memphis and Werner Herzog’s latest Happy People: A Year in the Taiga.

On Tuesday April 9, LIFF will host a free screening of 42, the latest film about Jackie Robinson directed by Brian Helgeland and starring Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford, at 6:30 p.m. LIFF will also screen The Place Beyond the Pines, the new thriller starring Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper, at 7:15 p.m. Both films will be screened at Ciemark Perkins Rowe.
