Learn the ‘Truth’ at Magnolia Mound
Celebrate black history month at Magnolia Mound Plantation this Saturday, with a dramatic presentation about Sojourner Truth. Born Isabella Baumfree in about 1797, Truth was an ex-slave, fiery abolitionist and spellbinding preacher and singer. By will and determination, she became a national symbol for strong black women. This performance is free and open to the public, starting at 1 p.m. Visit friendsofmagnoliamound.org for more information.
